ATTENTION PARENTS AND KIDS! Did you know that February is National Children’s Dental Health Month? Each year the American Dental Association designates this month as the time to raise awareness about the importance of oral health for children. This year they are asking kids to “Get a Gold Medal Smile”. Developing good habits at an early age and scheduling regular checkups can help get a good start on a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums. Dr. Costello and his staff are happy to answer all questions you may have about your child’s dental health, whether it’s about thumb sucking, when should your child have their first dental visit or how and when to clean their teeth.
Children’s teeth are meant to last a lifetime, so Dr. Costello reminds us of these few simple guidelines:
- Brush twice a day
- Clean between your teeth daily
- Limit snacks, eat healthy meals
- Visit your dentist regularly
And most importantly…KEEP SMILING! Check in on our blog or on our Facebook page to get involved in our contest. When kids submit a drawing of their own “Gold Medal Smile” they’ll be entered into a drawing for a gift card to Barnes and Noble.
